Tiny Talkers Speech Pathology

We have a deep love of working with little people, and we bring therapy to them, in the places they feel most comfortable.

About Us

Welcome!
My name is Tarin, and I am the owner of Tiny Talkers Speech Pathology, a mobile Speech Pathology business, that I established in 2002 (formally, Forster Speech Pathology).

I service the Forster-Tuncurry area and any other part of NSW via Teletherapy.

I conduct myself with professionalism, compassion and integrity and have a genuine regard for all of the little people I support. My aim is to provide children with the opportunity to feel safe, heard and engaged while I support them to strive to achieve their full potential.

I do this through targeted, personalised and community-focused intervention and support, that is both fun and engaging.

I can provide therapy for your child in the environment they are comfortable with – at home, school, child care or at a community location.

I look forward to supporting you and your little person!

I provide speech therapy intervention for children who have:

Difficulties with speech production

Helping you child to learn to say sounds correctly and making it easier for others to understand whay they are saying. This can help to boost their confidence and enable them to experience increased positive social interactions.

Early Language Delay

Early speech therapy can give a boost to your child's language development, helping them catch up to their peers, benefiting their social interactions, enhancing academic readiness, and increasing their confidence.

Expressive and Receptive Language Delays

I can tailor therapy activities to each child's specific needs. Therapy can help them to understand the language they hear or read, follow directions, understand vocabulary and questions, or understand stories, for example. Therapy can also help them develop their ability to use words, sentences, gestures and writing to communicate.

Difficulty with reading and spelling

It's important to remember that human brains are naturally wired to speak, but they ARE NOT naturally wired to read and write. Many children pick these skills up easily, but for others the journey is slow and long, for varying reasons.

Therapy goals and activities can specifically target the essential skills involved in reading and writing, that are necessary to become a proficient reader and writer.

Social Communication

Developing a child's social communication skills and ability to engage in social interactions helps to provide them with the skills required to navigate social situations more effectively, leading to improved peer relationships, academic performance, and overall emotional well-being.

Some areas of focus include: initiating and maintaining conversations, using and interpreting non-verbal communication and social cues, developing play skills and using social phrases, for example.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is difficult to answer without having met your child, but if you are noticing
* difficulties with pronouncing words
* limited use of words
* trouble with saying sentences
* trouble understanding or following instructions
* stuttering
* social communication difficulties
* limited play skills
* difficulties with learning to read or write

then seeking a consulation with me can help determine if therapy will be beneficial.

Most of my sessions are 45 minutes long, but in some cases 30 minutes is more suitable.

Frequency depends again on individual client needs, along with the dynamics of their family life; it can range between twice weekly, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or less frequent visits.

It's important to understand that speech development is not about laziness. Speech and language skills require complex brain functions and coordination. If your child is not talking much, it’s not because they are lazy. There may be underlying factors that need to be addressed.
